About Linda Jamieson School of Dance
Established 30 years ago, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance provides training in a variety of dance genres for dance students ranging in age from 3 to 19. Located in Kanata, Ontario, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance offers both recreational and pre-professional programs in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and musical theatre taught by accomplished instructors. The school also provides training opportunities with guest artists from Broadway and world-renowned dance companies such as American Ballet Theatre, the Paris Opera Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company.
The Linda Jamieson School of Dance has assisted many students in achieving their goals of becoming professional dancers. Student have appeared on Broadway in productions such as Cats, Kiss Me Kate, Crazy for You, Lost in Yonkers, and Hello, Dolly! as well as in Hollywood movies such as Barney’s Great Adventure. Linda Jamieson School of Dance Alumni have also performed with dance companies such as The National Ballet of Canada and on cruise ships operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, Caribbean Cruise Line, and Celebrity Cruises, Inc.
The Linda Jamieson School of Dance is led by Director Linda Jamieson, an internationally recognized choreographer and teacher certified by the Royal Academy of Dance in London. Ms. Jamieson’s credentials include 12 years of training with the Broadway choreographers Peter Gennaro, Liza Gennaro-Evans, and Karin Baker and the teacher’s course at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Before her work at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance, she completed graduate-level courses in educational psychology and physical education and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies.
