The Linda Jamieson School of Dance guides youth in developing the passion, discipline, and technical skill to become strong, confident dancers. Teachers at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance are well versed in both technical traditions and emerging trends, and they hold certifications from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Royal Academy of Dance is launching a campaign to make dance more accessible to youth of every skill level and gender. Entitled Project B, the new effort aims to encourage more boys to take part in dance classes by reframing the way the dance community promotes and discusses its craft.
Over the next three years, RAD will funnel £30,000 into initiatives that elevate male role models in the dance community and provide new opportunities for boys to explore dance. Through Project B, the academy will forge new partnerships designed to get boys excited about dance by paring it with topics such as superheroes and athletics. It will also create new workshops and master classes catering to male dancers and will provide funding to help students attend them, in addition to providing financial support to fund training for current and aspiring male dance teachers.
